It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

We're very excited to celebrate being in our new space with one of our favorite & most-requested family dinners, and we think it's the perfect dinner for this busy season - warm, flavorful & comforting!  I wrote about my childhood memories that inspired this menu when we first made it last year, which you can read here.

We're hoping this week's delivery will help you get all stocked up before the busy holiday, and then we're so exited to report that we'll be open at The Porch Tuesday - Friday for you to come pick up fresh & frozen meals as well!  I'll post a menu of what we have available next week!

  • Be Nice Bagels Jalapeno Bagels or Chocolate Chip Bagels ($6 each sleeve of 6 small bagels)
  • Camino Bakery Pumpkin Bread ($5)
  • Camino Bakery Multigrain Sandwich Loaf ($6)

This is such a fun, family-friendly dinner that I could serve it in my house once a week and have very happy campers (but I don't, because it's a pain to make!)!  Of course we'll start with the Iceberg Wedge.  If your kids are still on the fence about salads in general, they are likely to jump right down onto this one.  We'll serve it deconstructed, so everyone can stack it up just like you like it.

The Booyah BBQ Stew is loaded with every manner of delicious things:  great smoky meat, BBQ sauce, corn, tomatoes, beans and seasonings.  It is also Gluten Free, so it's a great dinner for anyone with tricky food issues.  It is firmly in the category of meal rather than soup, and it's a perfect January dinner that your whole family will love.  And you can debate the origins of the name in your house and maybe even come up with your own!  You'll want to crumble in some warm Cheesy Cornbread, and probably have another piece on the side as well loaded up with butter just to keep the whole meal in balance.

All of our GYTTW meals this week are standard favorites, which we find comforting when there is so much going on this time of year.  (In full disclosure, I have not bought one single Christmas present for anyone, so I hope that makes everyone feel much better about their shopping!)  It's busy, and it's a good plan to stay ahead of things by having a great dinner on hand for busy nights, company, and house guests!

Just let us know what you'd like on your Porch & we'll look forward to seeing you there!

Here are just a few things to keep in mind:

Second Harvest Food Bank Fundraiser:

Our friends at Charity Chicks have partnered up with the Second Harvest Food Bank this year to help that organization provide much-needed food to families in our community.  As one of their fundraisers, they are helping to sell some delicious casseroles prepared at the Second Harvest Food Bank  All proceeds go to support the Food Bank.

We are so happy to help in a very small way by providing a pick-up spot for the casseroles, so if you have ordered some, you'll come to the brand new Porch to pick them up on December 18th.  There's lots more information at this link.
